Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Level Two Chimney Jersey City Guarantee
Every chimney sweep, repair, or rebuild we perform in Jersey City comes with one standing promise: it’s done right, or we make it right. That’s not marketing language. Since 2009, Level Two Chimney has put the 365-Day Done Right Promise behind more than 38,000 inspections and cleanings, and it hasn’t changed. If work we performed fails within a year of completion, we return and correct it at no charge. You get that in writing, before we start, on every job. No fine print buried on page four. No “subject to conditions” that quietly excuse the things that actually go wrong. For a homeowner in Paulus Hook or Bergen-Lafayette, that means a chimney service that carries real, enforceable weight.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship. If a repair we made does not hold up, we fix it under the 365-Day Done Right Promise, no charge for labor or the part we installed.
- Materials handling. When we install a DuraFlex liner, a HeatShield resurfacing, or a Gelco crown, we stand behind the installation, and we’ll tell you plainly what the manufacturer covers and what we cover.
- Cleanup. We leave your home the way we found it. Soot and debris stay inside the vacuum, not on your hearth, your floor, or your furniture.
- On-time arrival. Clause 2 of the Haven Standard requires us to arrive on schedule, and our techs text when they’re on the way. If we miss the window, we make it right.
- Honest pricing. The written price we give you before work starts is the price you pay. No surprise add-ons after the tech is already in your living room.
- Documented proof. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires a photo record on every visit. You see what we saw, and you keep the record.
How much does the guarantee actually cost?

Nothing. It’s included in every job, whether you’re booking a standard chimney sweep in downtown Jersey City or a full flue liner replacement in the Heights. There’s no warranty registration form, no activation fee, and no service plan you need to buy first. The 365-Day Done Right Promise is stamped on every job under the Haven Standard, and it travels with the work, not with a specific technician or a specific season. We don’t price jobs with the expectation that some percentage of customers will need a callback and we’ll argue about it later. We price jobs assuming the work holds. When it doesn’t, we honor the promise. That’s the entire mechanism.
Before
AfterOur Satisfaction Promise
If you’re not satisfied with the work, call us. You’ll reach a live person, any hour, any day, not a voicemail tree. Tell us what’s wrong. We’ll send a technician back to look at the same area, with the same camera we used the first time, and compare it against the photo record from your original visit. If we agree the work isn’t right, we correct it under the promise. If we disagree, we’ll show you the footage and walk you through what we’re seeing, clause by clause, until it’s clear. In 16 years of operating the Haven Standard, most callbacks end with a fix, not an argument. Either way, you never pay for the second visit. That process is not conditional on you having kept a receipt, and it’s not limited to business hours.
Licensed & Insured Backing

A guarantee is only as strong as the company standing behind it, and paperwork matters. Level Two Chimney Jersey City is state-licensed and fully insured and bonded. Our techs are background-checked and uniformed, and license information is displayed on every page and available on request. That matters in Jersey City because chimney work touches fire, gas, and structural masonry. If something goes wrong, insurance is what protects your home and ours. We also carry the Haven Standard’s written-scope requirement: every job includes a documented record of what was done, what was found, and what it cost. You walk away with proof, not promises. Corrine Halstead, Owner, is the name on the license and the person accountable for every job we book.
What if another company already gave me a written estimate?
Bring it in. We offer a Free Second Opinion on any written estimate from a competing chimney company. That means we’ll inspect the same chimney, our techs will record what they find on camera, and we’ll tell you whether the recommended work is necessary, partially necessary, or something you can safely defer. In Jersey City’s older housing stock, we regularly see estimates for full liner replacements where a HeatShield resurfacing would do the job for a fraction of the cost, and vice versa. When the second opinion saves you money, we’ll say so. When the original estimate was right, we’ll tell you that too, and you can take the work back to the original company with a clear conscience. The second opinion is free, and you keep our camera record either way. It’s Clause-based honesty, not a sales tactic.
What our written price includes

Every Level Two Chimney Jersey City job starts with a written scope, a written price, and a written warranty, delivered before anyone touches your chimney. The written scope names the specific work: which flue is being swept, what class of creosote we’re removing, which liner section is being replaced. The written price is the full price, including labor, materials, and cleanup. The written warranty states that the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to this specific job. If a chimney sweep in Greenville costs $189, the written price says $189, and that’s what you pay. The practice of giving written prices before work starts has been in place since our first season in 2009, and it became Clause 1 of the Haven Standard because it works: it removes the moment where a homeowner is standing in their own living room, being asked to approve a number they had no chance to think about.

What happens if I skip a sweep and something goes wrong?
Most chimney problems in Jersey City don’t announce themselves. A cracked flue liner, a deteriorating crown, or a heavy creosote buildup can sit quietly through years of fires until the conditions line up. Creosote is the byproduct of wood combustion, and it accumulates in three classes. Class I is flaky and removable with a standard brush. Class II is crusted and requires more aggressive mechanical removal. Class III is a hardened, glossy tar-like layer that is a genuine fire hazard, and it’s what we find most often in chimneys that have gone years without a sweep. If you haven’t had your chimney swept in several seasons, book an inspection with a camera scan. If we find nothing, you’ll have the photo record to prove it. If we find something, you’ll know exactly what it is and exactly what it costs to fix. Call (862) 272-3868 and we’ll give you a written price before we start.
Do I really need a camera inspection, or is that an upsell?

It’s the opposite of an upsell. The camera inspection, performed to the NFPA 211 Level 2 standard, is included in every Level Two Chimney Jersey City visit, not offered as an add-on. We run a camera down the flue because your chimney’s most important surfaces are the ones you cannot see from the hearth. The liner can be cracked behind a perfectly clean smoke chamber. The crown can be spalling, meaning the concrete is flaking and losing its seal against rain, while the visible brickwork looks fine. The only way to know is to look. We show you the footage, and you keep a copy. If the camera tells us the chimney is clean and sound, you get a clean bill of health with proof. If it finds a problem, you get a written scope and a written price, and you decide what happens next.
